About 5 minutes from Hillsboro Beach

Chiropractor Near Hillsboro Beach, FL

The lighthouse our town is named for stands at the south end of your Mile. We are just across the water on Federal Highway.

Hillsboro Beach is three miles of A1A on a barrier island, with the Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse at one end and the Deerfield Beach line at the other, and not a single doctor's office on it. Residents come across the Intracoastal for everything, and for chiropractic care the closest full practice is ours: over the Hillsboro Boulevard bridge, south on Federal Highway, about five minutes.

The Mile's residents are mostly retirees and part-year residents in oceanfront condominiums and estates, many of them from the Northeast, and their needs are specific. They want gentle care, a doctor who explains what is happening, and non-surgical options for the disc, knee and shoulder problems that come with an active seventies and eighties. That has been this office's specialty for three decades.

Why Hillsboro Beach patients make the drive to Lighthouse Point

The morning walk on A1A is the Hillsboro Beach exercise program, and it is hard on knees and feet. Knee osteoarthritis is the most common complaint we hear from the Mile, and the Knee Restoration Program is built for it: Knee-on-Trac decompression to unload the joint and Class IV laser to calm the inflammation, with no injections and no downtime. For heel and arch pain from miles of walking on hard surfaces, Foot Levelers custom orthotics are fitted in-office from a 3D scan.

Spinal stenosis and degenerative discs are the second reason. When walking distance shrinks because the low back and legs give out, the choice is usually presented as injections or surgery. The Spinal Decompression Program on the Antalgic-Trac system is the conservative option, and the office is close enough that the multi-session schedule is easy to keep.

Golf, tennis and swimming at the clubs in Deerfield and Boca bring the shoulder cases: rotator cuff wear, frozen shoulder and calcific tendinitis, treated in the Shoulder Restoration Program. And for residents who split the year between Florida and the North, we coordinate care so a program started here is not lost when you fly home.

What we treat most often for Hillsboro Beach

  • Knee osteoarthritis in daily A1A walkers who want to avoid replacement.
  • Lumbar stenosis and degenerative disc disease limiting walking distance.
  • Frozen shoulder and rotator cuff degeneration in golfers and swimmers.
  • Plantar fasciitis and metatarsal pain, treated with shockwave and custom orthotics.
  • Posture, balance and fall prevention for residents in their eighties. See is chiropractic safe for seniors.

Questions Hillsboro Beach patients ask

Is the office accessible for someone who uses a walker?

Yes. The entrance, parking and restroom are wheelchair accessible, there are no steps, and parking is immediately outside the door. Tell us when you book and we will schedule a quieter time.

I am only in Florida from November to April. Can I complete a program in that window?

Yes. The knee, spinal and shoulder programs are scheduled over several weeks, and a season is more than enough. Dr. McNamara also sends a summary of your care for your physician up north.

Is spinal decompression too aggressive for an eighty-year-old with stenosis?

The Antalgic-Trac applies gentle, computer-controlled distraction and is used with older patients regularly. Severe osteoporosis, fracture and spinal instability are screened for first, and Dr. McNamara will tell you plainly if you are not a candidate.

Do you take Medicare?

Medicare covers chiropractic spinal adjustments. The decompression, laser and Knee-on-Trac components of the programs are not covered by Medicare and are cash-pay; the office explains the cost before you begin. Call (954) 902-6371 for details.
